Yesterday our way up the mysterious mountain, we met Ayoze and his friends who kindly gave us a ride and showed us their bodega. Like many Islanders they have built their own bodega or cabin, carving heavy stones from the mountain. Much in the spirit of the island, the bodega is completely self-sufficient using solar energy and water from the mountains. Furthermore, besides drifting cloud curtains and rainbows, the humidity of the mountain area creates fertile ground for cultivating various fruits (apples, melons) chestnut trees and fresh herbs. This it what it looks like. As Amir, a traveller from Tel Aviv, puts it: “this would be the perfect place to hide yourself when the world ends!”.
